Sublimation Stamps & Stamp Anniething Stencil Magnets with Artesprix

Hello my crafty friends and welcome!! This is Terra OBrien and I am here with a super fun project that you can do with your family! I am not sure about you all but my kids love magnets and put them everywhere! So when I saw the Artesprix 4 count Magnet Blanks were my next project, I had a great idea in mind that I knew my kids would love too.

What are Artesprix Sublimation Arts & Crafts Supplies?

If you have never heard of Artesprix you are in for a treat! I am a papercrafter by nature and have heard of sublimation before but it seemed very intimidating until I found Artesprix. I love that I don’t have to buy an expensive sublimation printer to make amazing, permanent projects! Artesprix’s products, from the markers to the blanks, are so easy fun to use. Artesprix Iron-on-Ink is a complete line of sublimation products that allow artists and crafters to permanently personalize polyester-coated substrates with their own designs. With marker colors to choose from, along with stamp pads, accessories, and blanks, you’ll never run out of ideas for custom creative projects to make personalized products that last a lifetime.

Step-by-Step Tutorial:

Step 1: Trace your blank! For me this is an important step because then I know where my design will sit on the blank.

Step 2: After I created by templates, my daughter choose this beautiful rose stencil from StampAnniething called Roses stencil. And I did a little ink blending with the Red & Yellow ink pads.

Optional: I sprayed the back of my stencil with pixie spray just to keep it in place while I was blending the red and yellow ink over it.

Note: Do not worry if it looks muted at first because once you add heat and pressure the colors come to life!

Step 3: Once I had finished blending with the stencil, I set the designs aside to work on the other 2 designs. For these 2 I wanted an ombre rainbow look on one and an ombre from pink to yellow on the other. I started with the red ink using my blending brush and began at the top, then the yellow slightly blended into the red just a bit so it created orange, then I continued that same process with the blue ink. I also did the same steps with the yellow and pink.

Pro Tip: You will want to have separate blending brushes when using this sublimation stamp ink, you do not want to intermix your brushes with your other inks.

Step 4: Once I had all my blending finished we picked out 2 stamps from the Hand Lettered Basics Sublimation Stamps we used "Hello" and "Love". I used my Artespix Acrylic Stamp Block. I really like that the stamp block has gridlines lines on it, makes it so much easier to line up. With the Black ink pad I dabbed it onto the "Hello" sublimation stamp first and tried to place it in the center as much as I could. I just repeated the same steps with the "Love" stamp.

Note: Traditional stamps are mirrored so when you stamp them for paper crafting they read correctly. These are stamps that are non-mirrored, specifically for sublimation. I highly recommend them!

Step 5: When you are finished designing, it is time to tape your magnets down to your design using the Artesprix Heat Safe Tape. It is wise to be  generous with heat tape because you do not want anything to shift while heating. It is also a good idea to wipe off your blanks with a clean microfiber towel before securing to ensure it is clean.
Step 6: Before we put our project under the heat we need to make a "sublimation sandwich". Using your Artesprix Protective Paper, place one piece under your magnet and an additional piece on top.

Step 7: Set your Artesprix heat press timer for 75 seconds and press to

400℉. If using a Home Iron/Dry Iron, place “Sublimation Sandwich” on your Artesprix Project Mat and hold stationary while pressing firmly for approximately 3 minutes. If you are using a home iron you want to make sure it is on its highest setting with no steam.

Note: Your "sublimation sandwich" should be positioned under the heat so that the heat only has to go through the paper, not the blank, for the transfer to take place.

Step 8: This is my favorite step! The peak test before removing any tape carefully lift the corner of your paper to take a peak to make sure you have a good transfer! Remember, these are made of metal so they will be very hot, use caution during this step.

Step 9: After we confirmed our transfer was successful, it is time for the big reveal. I placed the magnets on a heat safe surface to let them cool completely before doing the reveal.

Step 10: After the magnets have cooled completely, remove the protective adhesive from the magnets that are included in your set of 4 from Artesprix and apply to the back of the hexagon magnets.

We have a metal door leading out to our garage so we are using ours to hold important appointments.
