Hello all, Designer Lori here with the Blank of the Month project for September. Although I am sad to see us at the end of Summer, I am looking forward to the Fall and all of its glorious color. This time of year also marks the start of my holiday crafting season. I kicked off the season with a cute Halloween Sublimation project featuring Artexprix Iron-on-Ink Ribbon. Check out the step by steps below to find out how to use a Cricut machine with Artesprix makers to create a unique Halloween Ribbon.

What is Sublimation Iron-on-Ink?
It is an interesting and fun product that allows you to create a design on standard copy paper that can then be heat transferred onto surfaces (must have polyester in it or have a polyester coating). Once the project is transferred to the blank, it is lifetime permanent. Before Artesprix, you would need a fancy printer to experience this level of personalization, but not anymore!
Supplies:
Sublimation Markers - Black, Purple, Green and Yellow
Cricut Halloween Image
Cricut Machine with Pen Adapter
Computer Paper
Heat Press or Handheld Heat Source
Step-by-Step Tutorial:
Step 1: Using Cricut Software, upload a Halloween image and size to fit Sublimation Ribbon (2.25 inches wide). Make multiple rows at once. Flip images to be in reverse. Set Operation setting to “Pen”.
Step 2: Load a piece of white copy paper into your Cricut machine.
Step 3: Place a Black Artesprix Sublimation Fine Tip Marker into the Cricut marker holder, load paper, and print.
Step 4: Unload printed paper from Cricut matte. Trim printed paper into rows.
Step 5: Use Artesprix Sublimation Markers to color printed images.
Step 6: Trim edges of paper rows so that images willflow evenly between sections.
Step 7: Place Ribbon onto design so that the shiny side touches the design, and secure with heat tape. Attach rows of designs together, making sure to line up the transfers.
Step 8: Make a "Sublimation Sandwich" by placing the prepared paper and ribbon between two pieces of protective paper.
Step 9: Heat set using appropriate settings for the blank. This ribbon calls for 400℉ with 90 second transfer time.
Step 10: After heat set, take-a-peek at the transfer to ensure transfer was successful (do not remove tape until transfer is confirmed). Re-heat if needed. Heat each section of ribbon until done.
Step 11: Remove paper to reveal the personalized ribbon.
One of my favorite crafting things is to do is to find ways to maximize by crafting tools and supplies. Using the Artesprix Iron-on-Ink Markers with my Cricut machine to create unique designs for sublimation is a terrific way to accomplish this. So in love with this project.
