I fell in love with the Heffy Doodle Gnome Matter What Stamp Set. Specifically, the little mushroom image within the set really inspired me and evolved into a one stamp challenge! Check out the step by step instructions below to see how I created two sublimation projects with Artesprix Sublimation Stamp ink and Markers and one adorable, little mushroom stamp.

What is Sublimation Iron-on-Ink?

It is an interesting and fun product that allows you to create a design on standard copy paper that can then be heat transferred onto surfaces (must have polyester in it or have a polyester coating). Once the project is transferred to the blank, it is lifetime permanent. Before Artesprix, you would need a fancy printer to experience this level of personalization, but not anymore!

Step-by-Step Tutorial:

Step 1: Using a full sheet of standard printer paper, stamp the Heffy Doodle mushroom design randomly in sublimation black ink all over the paper.

Step 2: Color stamped designs with Sublimation Markers.

Step 3: On a craft mat, dilute Black Sublimation Stamp Refill Ink. Use a fan brush to add paint splatters to the stamped paper.

Step 4: Decide which part of your design is that part you want to transfer, and secure the potholder with heat tape.

Pro Tip: Cut away any mushrooms beyond what is needed for your potholder to use for additional projects.

Step 5: Make a "Sublimation Sandwich" by placing the secured project and between two pieces of protective paper larger than the design.

Step 6: Heat set using appropriate settings for the blank. These potholders from Artesprix call for 400°F and for 60 seconds.

Step 7: After heat set, take-a-peek at the transfer to see if it was successful (do not remove tape until transfer is confirmed). This step provides you with the option to re-heat if needed.

Step 8: Remove paper to reveal the personalized potholder.

Step 9: (Optional) Use excess stamped designs on other sublimation blanks to create a cohesive set. Repeat steps above make a coordinating Sublimation Kitchen Towel.
