Artesprix Brutus Monroe Headband

Good morning. Nicole here! I’m still making fun things for my friend, Jen. She LOVES ladybugs. Today, I'm excited to share this cute headband I created using Artesprix’s Sublimation Markers, stamps and the blank of the month…a headband! This turned out super cute and I can’t wait to give this to my friend!

What are Artesprix Sublimation Markers?

Magic Ink that transfers beautiful colors from plain copy paper to a polyester product with a heat source. Iron-on-Ink Markers are the way to personalize sublimation, which is specially formulated inks that transfer only when activated with heat.

Materials:

Artesprix Sublimation Markers

Brutus Monroe Stamps (Lovely Ladybugs)

Plain Copy Paper

Acrylic Block

Blank of the Month Headband

Sublimation Ink Pad - Black

Protective Paper

Heat Tape

Pencil

Project Mat

Heat Press

Step-by-Step Tutorial:

Step 1: Trace your headband onto a plain piece of copy paper using a pencil. That way you know how much space you have to work with.

Pro Tip: Set your heat press at 400℉ before you start working on your headband. That way, the heat press will be hot enough to sublimate your design when you are finished.

Step 2: Stamp designs within the traced area using the Sublimation Ink Pad and Acrylic Block.

Step 3: Next, color in the adorable Ladybugs, hearts and flowers using sublimation markers.

Step 4: Using heat tape, tape down the headband. This will prevent any "ghosting" during the transfer process.

Step 5: Place a piece of Protective Paper at the top, middle, and bottom of your headband. This will protect the heat platen, the other side of your headband, and the bottom of your heat press. Place your "Sublimation Sandwich" inside the heat press for 45 seconds at 400℉.

Step 6: Carefully, take a peek at the project using gloves. Then place the headband onto the Project Mat to cool down.

Step 7: Once the project has cooled down, remove the protective paper and heat tape to reveal your vivid design!

Step 8: I decided to add a sentiment on the other side of the headband, rather than cover the entire other side with ladybugs. Repeat the steps above to do the other side.
