Hello and welcome my crafty friends! My name is Terra O'Brien and today I have a super fun project using the Artesprix Wine Bag along with a few cute stamps from Stamp Anniething! The collaboration between Artesprix and Stamp Anniething has been very fun and I am looking forward to sharing this project with you today. I love being able to combine two of my favorite hobbies together, card making and sublimation!
What are Artesprix Sublimation Arts & Crafts Supplies?
If you have never heard or Artesprix you are in for a treat! I am a papercrafter by nature and have heard of sublimation before but it seemed very intimidating until I found Artesprix. I love that you do not need to purchase an expensive sublimation printer to make amazing projects! Artesprix’s products, from the markers to the blanks, are so easy to use and Artesprix makes it fun.
Materials:
Sublimation Stamp Pads in the color Black
Original Sublimation Markers 10ct
Paige Girls Night Stamp Anniething
Heat Source: Home Iron or Artesprix Heat Press.
Copy paper (Optional: I used Bristol Smooth for blending)
Step-by-Step Tutorial:
Step 1: Usually I would trace my blank before I got started, but with the Artesprix Wine Bag just cut my paper to size!
Step 2: Now that I have the paper sized for my Artesprix Wine Bag, time to stamp! I chose these cute girly stamps from Stamp Anniething, they are perfectly themed "girls night". Stamp the designs towards the center of your paper so they are on the "front" when you place a wine bottle in the bag.
Step 3: After I stamped the designs, let them set for just a few minuets before adding color with the Artesprix Sublimation Markers. Don’t panic when the colors seem muted, once that heat is applied they will brighten like magic.
Pro Tip: It's a good idea to keep a scrap piece of paper if I am using a lighter color like yellow to brush off any extra color that it may have picked up.
Step 4: Now it is time to color, I chose the colors grey, yellow, pink, blue, red, brown and blue. The color of the blank is perfect to simply leave the faces uncolored.
Step 5: After a few minutes it is time to secure your design to the Artesprix Wine Bag using the Artesprix Heat Safe Tape. It is good practice to be generous with my tape to prevent any shifting.
Pro Tip #2: Before I secure my design to any fabric blank, I lint roll to remove any lint, etc. to ensure nothing shows up on your final project.
Step 6: It is time for another important step in the process, making a "Sublimation Sandwich". Using three pieces of Artesprix Protective Paper, place one under your Wine Bag, one inside your Wine Bag, and one on top. You can reuse your siliconized paper as long as nothing has transferred on to it.
Step 7: Set your Artesprix heat press timer for 40 seconds and press to 400℉. If using a Home Iron/Dry Iron, place “Sublimation Sandwich” on your Artesprix Project Mat and hold stationary while pressing firmly for approximately 3 minutes. If you are using a home iron you want to make sure it is on its highest setting with no steam.
Step 8: I can’t lie, this is always one of my favorite steps in the process! It is called the "peek test". Before removing any tape carefully lift a corner of your design to see if you have a good transfer! If it didn’t transfer the way you wanted, you can always repress for additional time.
Pro Tip #3: I love using tweezers for my peak test it keeps my fingers out of the way.
Step 9: Time for the BIG reveal! After your project has cooled, remove the paper to reveal your infused design.
Now all you have to do is pop your favorite wine in and have a fun girls night!
